We were referred into this client on an urgent requirement. It was a Monday and a video was required to be included in a presentation on the Wednesday in the US.
On Tuesday I packed the camera, microphone, tripod, lights, headphones and laptop and headed to Canary Wharf. In the boardroom we discussed the brief and came up with a storyboard. While the MD prepared a script, I was passed the brand assets and prepared the project on the laptop.
We recorded two pieces to camera, took some screen captures of software processes using Camtasia, recorded voiceover for these, shot a few B-roll shots, and added some PowerPoint slides. Along with some Photoshop work on logos and graphics, the edit was pulled together, using lunch downtime to allow the edit to render. The day was all about efficient use of time. By 4pm we had an edit that was close to complete and ready to be approved within the organisation, so I went home.
A couple of tweaks came through that night, so I edited and resent before bed. Approval was given in the morning.
Since then we’ve worked on a dozen or so projects, from event coverage to software demos. There’s even been a re-voiceover of an existing software video demo. The client wanted a voice that sounded recognisable and quintessentially British – Judi Dench. Not having an infinite budget I sourced a Judi soundalike and went to the recording studio to monitor proceedings. Needless to say, client was chuffed.
“Chris is simply amazing! I’ve worked with Chris on a couple of projects in only a few weeks and I expect this to be a long and successful relationship. Following the initial brief, Chris has interpreted, consulted and managed the production of a number of videos & voice overs with ease, clarity, calmness and utter professionalism. I can’t rate Chris enough! Corporate Video has never been this easy!”
Due to the nature of the project, we can’t share it here.
